If a contestant performs in the top 50% of the competition, they will be entered into a sweepstakes for a $1,000 scholarship.
The winner's school also receives $1,000 and will be honored on the Musical Literacy Foundation website.

There are three scholarships. The winner receives a $1,000 prize, and everyone that performs in the top 50% is entered into a drawing to win a $1,000 prize. If the winner attends a school, that institution will also receive a $1,000 prize. The final four contestants will all receive commemorative awards according to their placement.
The school of the competitor wins a $1,000 prize.

All participating students will compete in a computerized pitch test similar to the main competition. The results of this test will be used to determine the top 16, who will advance to a tournament bracket and compete on stage.
Two contestants will answer progressively harder pitch questions. The first to miss three is eliminated. 15 seconds will be allotted to answer each question, until the tiebreaker.
Breakdown:
- 10 questions: play two notes in sequence. Is the second note higher or lower? The notes played will decrease in pitch interval, down to a minimum of 7 cents (a measure of pitch) apart.
- 10 questions: identify notes played from 130.81 hz (C₃) to 1975.53 hz (D₆).
- Tiebreaker: a time component comes into play. Contestants identify notes as before, but the last to answer misses the question, until one has three missed questions.
It will be a maximum of 500. Registration will be honored on a first come, first serve basis.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any transportation options this year. We plan to devise a solution in the future to expand access! Parents and teachers will be responsible for transportation to and from the Pitch Olympics.
